DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, July 11th \, Shawn and Louise will host a full-day off-road riding clinic\, designed to teach new riders the art and nuances of handling ‘big’ adventure bikes off-the pavement! Course curriculum includes Balance\, Clutch and Throttle Control\, Braking techniques\, Body Position and Turning. Please bring your own bike\, lunch and a willingness to learn! \nThis hands-on training clinic is limited to 25 people and reservations are required. Shawn and Louise know what it takes to ride abroad and will share their experiences—and fiascos—in a fun and educational setting! \nPresentations are in-store\, free of charge and open to all. \n\nPresentations will include:\n11am- Shawn Thomas – Riding Gear: From helmets to boots and everything in between\, Shawn will help you understand what makes adventure riding gear unique and essential\, including abrasion resistance\, protective armor\, Dual-Sport helmets\, Adventure boots and on-road/off-road gloves.\n\n\n(Duration: 60 Minutes)\n\n\n12:30pm Louise Powers – Packing for a Motorcycle Adventure\nLouise will discuss everything you need to know about packing your motorcycle for a trip. If you’re new to the idea of an adventure beyond your day ride\, come and listen and bring your questions. If you’re experienced in this\, come along and add your stories!\n(Duration: 30 Minutes)\n\n\n1:30 Shawn Thomas – Motorcycle Electronics: Shawn will help you Understand the technology contained within modern BMW Motorcycles—ABS Brakes\, Traction Control\, Electronic Suspension\, Throttle Response\, and the new TFT display—and how they help us to be a better rider!\n(Duration: 60 Minutes)\n\n\n2:45pm Louise Powers – Tips and tricks for the vertically challenged rider\nLouise is 5’ 3½” tall and rides a 2019 BMW R 1250 GS HP. If you want some tips on how to handle your tall\, heavy motorcycle—especially at low or no speed (when your bike is really ready for a nap)—join Louise for a discussion and demonstration on elements such as bike ergonomics\, body positions\, off-camber slowing\, stopping\, and maneuvering.
